To register your homeschool student, go to and use FastPass registration code: 2T84Q

Once your Site Coordinator approves your registration, IDLA will send a welcome email instructing you to set up a student portal and to take an orientation. This email can take up to 40 minutes to generate once registration is approved.

  • Emails come from:  Be sure to check your junk/spam folders if you haven’t gotten confirmation emails. This will be IDLA’s main method of communication.
  • If you never receive emails or if you end up with URL errors when setting up the student portal, please contact IDLA Tech Support (email, phone, chat.)

The student will have access to courses once the orientation is completed and submitted.

  • Elementary (grades K-5): A parent or guardian is expected to accomplish the orientation and be available, directly supporting their student during synchronous classroom sessions. Academic Year Calendar
  • Secondary (grades 6-12): Orientation is for the student only, but the parent will get the same emails. There is an option to set up a parent portal to keep tabs on how your student is doing.  Academic Year Calendar
  • IMPORTANT: The Orientation is INSIDE the student portal and has an exam at the end. The exam must be submitted or the system will drop the student from the class within the first few days of class.

The teachers will reach out to you directly and share contact information and instructions per class.

Elementary: Expect an hour per subject of daily independent work, including Fridays.

  • If you have registered your 3rd-5th grader for Science/Social Studies, synchronous times will vary depending on the teacher and will be 45-60 synchronous minutes per week with additional independent work.
  • Attendance: YOUR STUDENT CAN BE DROPPED FROM CLASS. Please read the Homeschool Handbook thoughtfully.

Secondary:  All secondary courses are asynchronous (no scheduled live meeting times.) Expect to spend 6-8 hours per week on the typical course. *Some courses will take longer.  Please help your student with time management skills and provide consistent external accountability support, expectations and work ethic guidance.

  • Please explore the use of the tutoring center early on and know what a great resource it is.
